这是英国的一档选秀节目，让我对它产生兴趣源于《国际时讯》的一则新闻，当时新闻只是轻描淡写地介绍了最后的冠军Paul Potts，还播放了他在最后演唱的歌剧，就在那时我被震撼了（或许所有的歌剧都能给我震撼，以前看《歌剧魅影》就让我兴奋了好几个星期）。
Paul凭借这个节目完全改变了自己的命运，他之前是个手机推销员，尽管外表看起来有些呆，缺乏自信，但是他用自己的实力证明：他成功了！从他一开唱到离场，观众掌声几乎没断过。
还有一个小女孩也是此次节目中的亮点：Connie，才6岁。当评委对Connie说：“I’m going to talk to you like an adult cause I think it’s important” ，台下嘘声一片，可能观众觉得这样对她太残酷了。
对比国内乌烟瘴气的选秀节目，我们是选手在台上哭，主持人在那里不停地煽情，搞得很做作，而且现场基本上看不到什么观众，全是评委在那里秀；反观国外的这个，现场观众的反应绝对对评委的决定有重大影响，选手没哭倒是观众席里有人在抹眼泪。
这差距咋这么大呢？或许国外那根本就不是“选秀”，应该叫“选拔”，没点真本事，征服不了观众就是不行，它更看重“选”；“选秀”，选出来秀秀就了事，纯粹娱乐，它更看重“秀”。
